Hello! I’m Dave, and I’m a creative writer, editor, and brand content specialist with over 15 years of experience. I live in Austin, Texas with my wife and 3 dogs.

I started my writing career as a journalist in the midwest — interviewing major music acts like The Shins, Dr. Dog, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club — before transitioning into a role as an ad hoc Swiss Army knife writer for multiple in-house production agencies. I’ve managed multiple editorial communities, written for a variety of mediums, and created content for major brands including Meow Wolf, Disney, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Rooster Teeth (Fullscreen/AT&T), Home Depot, Electronic Arts, and Tastemade, among others.

Over the past 5 years, I’ve had the opportunity to write brand and comedy content for Rooster Teeth and appear on panels at RTX, their annual fan convention. My most recent role, though, was as what my colleagues used to call “The Voice of Meow Wolf,” during which time I wrote the company’s brand guide (in addition to the brand guide for their upcoming Las Vegas exhibition). I was in charge of Meow Wolf’s editorial production, website copy, ad writing (video, radio, print, digital), emails, newsletters, and marketing video scripts. I also had the pleasure of writing creative copy and creating exhibition content for Meow Wolf Las Vegas and Meow Wolf Denver.

I love collaborating with visual artists, and I often find myself writing as a hobby when I’m not writing as a professional. In recent years, I’ve created a now defunct baseball blog and a functioning webcomic (Instagram: @truthcheese).
